It’s that time of the year again!

After just coming home from school i’ve decided that today is a fantastic opportunity to maximize my exposure to the ever fantastic spring sun at the same time as i do my regular course work.

I mean, why not? B-)

Turns out i’ll be going to Montréal this fall!

VuedeMontrealSo at long last the time has come start preparing for the exchange semester this coming fall! I’ve spent a good amount of time until very recently on researching and ranking schools and courses, but finally the application process has come and gone and i can now say that i’ll be going to HEC Montreal in Canada (duh) in the fall! Yay! Signed the papers and everything today 🙂

I ranked three U.S Universities higher than HEC, but turns out at two of them won’t accept any incoming exchange students from our school next semester, and the last one…well, someone else apparently had a tad higher grades than me (just a tad! 😉 and got the spot instead.

Anyways; i’m very happy about going to HEC and also to experience Montreal and Canada, as i’ve previously never been there before. To this point i’ve certainly only heard good things about the country, and the school.

Now it’s time to start refining my very limited knowledge in French, since Quebec where Montréal is located is a French Canadian province. Thankfully the courses i plan to take are all taught in English though, anything else would probably have been problematic at this point 😉

In short: This has been a great day, and the onset of spring like days here in the south of Sweden right now makes any piece of good news even better!

The Easter Special!

After a thoroughly enjoyable easter that included lots of good times with my pals i am now sitting on the bus home from school. Today is officially a national holiday but me and my awesome project group in financial management decided to meet up today to get work done on our upcoming case presentation this Wednesday. We got a lot done in the few hours we sat with it, and now i’m heading home to a relaxing bath. It shall be great since i left home in a hurry today (after a late night last night!).Image

Weather has been absolutely awesome this easter and i sure hope it continues to be! Ain’t nothing like the bright, sunny days of summer approaching…

Business AND pleasure!

The spring landed last week and is in pretty much full swing here in southern Sweden now, which of course is nothing but just fantastic! And why not combine business with pleasure and sit outside in the sun and do your study work for the day? 🙂

I did the exam in Statistics a few weeks back and we are now into our penultimate course of the semester; preparatory Accounting and Financial control. It’s an interesting subject so far. Book keeping can be tedious and monotonous, but i can’t help to enjoy feeling that what you do is something important that just has to get right. There’s no room for sloppiness in this field! 🙂 We’re having a group project in this course as well which will be fun for sure, me and my group will summon later today to get the started on it all.

Thoughts at the halfway.

It’s mid-march and we’re pretty much halfway between the bitterly cold winter and the soul-warming summer. Let me say this; Sun, you have been longed for! This past week has really been amazing here in southwestern Sweden, last weekend me and some great friends of mine lit the BBQ for the first time this year and needless to say that was a fantastic feeling. And the week since has been equally pleasant; i’ve been walking the Flowers_-_Spring_Roadapproximately 4,5km to the gym three times this weeks thanks to the great, spring-ish weather. Fantastic! Keep it up, sun! 🙂

Logging on to my Uni account this week i also recieved the news that i passed the microeconomics exam we had recently, which of course is a great thing. I am lying if i say that it was all joy however, as i worked very hard to pass it with distinction, but no such luck this time. Two meager points (60p total on the exam) from the passed with distinction mark…sigh. I tried to find those two points somewhere in the exam to dispute it and get the results adjusted, but they are not in there, the examinator has done a flawless job. I am of course glad that i passed it, many others did not, but it still bothers me abit. Better luck next time (and even harder preparations of course).

It’s time to start thinking about a job during the summer break from school now too. I have made some applications to companies that i would like to meet with and build something with, but no news regarding this yet. My former employer needs me over the summer as well, i know this already, but i’m yet to make any decisions with them to this point. The coming weeks will tell which way this goes. Needless to say i would absolutely love to do something that can develop what i am learning at the university to practical knowledge; studying is not an end in itself, it must (and it will) get me somewehere with regards to a future career.

Anyways, enough ramblings for this time; enjoy the spring days everyone around the world who are experiencing it as we speak!

When things start moving in the right direction.

ImageAs i woke up this morning and pulled up the blinds i could glean at something that has been very abscent here the last few months; the sun! As a self-proclaimed “sun-person” (whatever that really is) i was both delighted and reminded that we are in fact moving towards brighter and warmer times with rapid speed these days. My phone says that it’s 7 degrees centigrade outside which makes it a little bit too chilly to have that first outdoor coffee of the year just yet, but i sure can’t wait for that to happen.

In other news the exam in microeconomics went fairly well last week (only wishful thinking at this point however, results are still about two weeks out), and i’m now working on the second course in statistics. Which reminds me, i should get back to doing just that..
