The day is finally here, the day of our very last exam of our very first year at the school of Business, economics and law at the University of Gothenburg! Long sentence there…and the school year has at times felt equally long, long and hard fought. But in the end we prevailed and did so with great honor i have to say.
The exam intself (financial accounting) felt “good” yesterday…i don’t dare to say more than that because if i do, i’m positive that i will jinx it! It did feel good…we were allowed to have the reference book for swedish corporate and accounting law and policy to use during the exam and i have to say that i’m slowly getting used to quickly find the answer to all life’s questions in that little book. Perhaps i should have studied law instead? But nah…business and economics is where my heart lies..i have really hit home with this field of study it has to be said.
After the exam yesterday i went for an extended lunch with my good friends from school, the weather really was crap with rain all day but we eventually found cover at the local restaurant close to school. I rounded of the day with a nice beef pasta and a few beers.
Today is day two. Now i’m sitting at my mother’s place waiting to eat some good food and crack my champagne (yes). After that i’ll be heading out to spend the day and night with my friends. This is going to be a good one.
I’ve been walking around with this nagging feeling for a couple of days now that I need to update my blog…time to remedy that issue right now! The thing is that I’ve been quite busy as of late as the spring semester (and my first year at Uni!) is approaching its last exam. It feels so great to be at this point It has to be said…I soon have one year of university studies under my belt; fantastic!
Yesterday I started looking at the possibilities for one or two semesters abroad. This is something that has been part of my plans all along, to combine my studies at the school with a period of experience in the US (preferably). I would be leaving for the fifth and possibly the fourth term (if I get real lucky) which would give me all in all one year of studies in the US (whole of 2015). We’ll see, I need to do a lot more research with regards to the curriculum and so on still, but I do feel hopefully and very good about this prospect…stay tuned!
In other news I visited my extended family up in the north of Sweden at the beginning of this month, which was great and a damn lot of fun. I don’t get to meet my closest cousins all too often and I’m always very happy to get the opportunity. The weather was a fair bit more chilly than it was down here in the south (it even snowed when I left!), but it was great stuff anyways. I look forward to go back in the future, don’t know when though.
Right now I’m very anxious to get the results from our latest exam in financial management! We had the exam the evening before I left to the north and the results are due tomorrow…I just want to get the results and hopefully be able to count this one home and focus fully on the accounting course we are in right now.
That’s it for right now, time to get some evening grub!
After a thoroughly enjoyable easter that included lots of good times with my pals i am now sitting on the bus home from school. Today is officially a national holiday but me and my awesome project group in financial management decided to meet up today to get work done on our upcoming case presentation this Wednesday. We got a lot done in the few hours we sat with it, and now i’m heading home to a relaxing bath. It shall be great since i left home in a hurry today (after a late night last night!).
Weather has been absolutely awesome this easter and i sure hope it continues to be! Ain’t nothing like the bright, sunny days of summer approaching…
Sundays and weekends are usually synonomous with leisure and lazy times but that is not the case for me this particular Sunday. This is what i have in front of me right now; a desk full of financial control scribblings!
The group project that we have in this particular course stole quite a bit of my personal study time this past week so i decided to gather some lost ground now during the weekend instead. But make no mistake; i’m working in a leasurily pace…after all it’s still weekend.
The spring landed last week and is in pretty much full swing here in southern Sweden now, which of course is nothing but just fantastic! And why not combine business with pleasure and sit outside in the sun and do your study work for the day? 🙂
I did the exam in Statistics a few weeks back and we are now into our penultimate course of the semester; preparatory Accounting and Financial control. It’s an interesting subject so far. Book keeping can be tedious and monotonous, but i can’t help to enjoy feeling that what you do is something important that just has to get right. There’s no room for sloppiness in this field! 🙂 We’re having a group project in this course as well which will be fun for sure, me and my group will summon later today to get the started on it all.
